Sadly my daughter and I have had to leave our newly renovated villa in Puglia as I became very homesick and can you believe missing my career. Although my daughter left Italy fluent in the language and I myself having made many beautiful Italian friends, I wish to bring to your readers attention to what happened to us when we returned to the UK with our Italian cat Lucy.

Dear Puglia Uncovered,
My name is Benjamin Ross and I am a 3rd year linguist at Durham University. As part of my studies I am obliged to spend a significant amount of time 'in country' improving my spoken ability.

In London at the time, we took advantage to go to this exhibition at Olympia, and hopefully get ourselves a dose of Italia. I thought Id post a quick review in case anyone wants to visit the next one in the Autumn of 2008. Last update: 09-10-2007 14:20

Over 25 years ago we made our first trip to Italy. We had already extensively toured much of Europe by car but not been to Italy. Our next door neighbour had lived there for a bit and encouraged us to give it a go. So in our MGB roadster, packed with camping equipment we embarked on what was to change our view of Europe.
We drove down the West coast - tried to get to Sicily but didn't like the flies in parts of Calabria (although I do seem to remember an idyllic campsite in Tropea under the citrus trees). We decided to head for the heel. Last update: 11-09-2009 17:55
